Yuko T. Callaway

Obituary Yuko T. Callaway, 86, of Havelock, died Sunday October 13, 2019 at Lighthouse Village, Jacksonville NC. A service will be held 6:00 pm Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Brooks Funeral Home, Morehead City. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 5:00 pm. Yuko Terakawa Callaway was born to Shigeru and Masako (Yamauchi) Terakawa on March 13, 1933 in Hiroshima, Japan. She was one of four children. She married Ronald Avaun Callaway and had two sons, Richard and Andrew Callaway. She worked diligently in the family business and treasured spending time with and cooking for her family. She also took immense pride in her ardent practice and furtherance in the local chapter of SGI Buddhism. Yuko is survived by her children: Richard L. Callaway and his wife Penny of New Bern, NC, and Andrew B. Callaway and his wife Rebecca of New Bern, NC, Five grandsons: Alexander and his wife Allison, Jeremy, Grant, Samuel and Andrew Jr. (AJ), Siblings: Yoji Terakawa, Ryuso Terakawa and Toshio Terakawa all of Hiroshima, Japan. Yuko is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald A. Callaway.
