Yoshiko “Rusty” Tamanaha Wardlow

Obituary "Rusty" Yoshiko Tamanaha Wardlow passed away on January 9, 2021 in Lynchburg Virginia. She was born March 3, 1934, in Wahiawa, Hawaii, to the late Kamato and Makato Tamanaha. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 1:00pm with family only in attendance due to Covid-19. The service will be live-streamed and the family encourages all to join them for the service this way. She was always willing to help someone in need. Her greatest joys were spending time with her family (grandchildren, children, neighbors), attending church, sewing, cooking, dancing the hula, gardening, fishing, clamming, bingo, Yahtzee, cards, and cutting grass on her riding lawnmower. She is survived by her son Lester Wardlow and wife Patricia Wardlow; son Robert Wardlow and wife Colleen Wardlow; grandchildren Christine Graf, Aaron and wife Emma Wardlow, Sarah Wardlow, Justin Wardlow; and brother Shigemasa Tamanaha. She was preceded in death by husband Marvin R. Wardlow; siblings Hiroshi Tamanaha, Misao Tamanaha, Larry Shigeru Tamanaha, Shigemori Tamanaha, Yoshino Wakukawa, and Oshige Taira. In lieu of flowers and gifts, please make any charitable donations to your local hospice or nursing scholarship fund. Interment will be at the New Bern National Cemetery.
