William Arrington Taylor, 79, of Morehead City, NC, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at ECU Medical Center with his niece and nephew by his side. He was born November 11, 1945 in Morehead City, to parents, William Haywood and Elizabeth (Libia) Arrington Taylor, who preceded him in death.
William was a 1964 graduate of Beaufort High School, and then attended North Carolina Wesleyan University. He taught English for many years in the Carteret County School System, and later became Assistant Principal. In his free time he enjoyed traveling and making memories with his college friends. He met and married the love of his life Carol Wiley Taylor in 1979, and from that point forward they shared a love with no ends.
He was an devout and active member of First Baptist Church in Morehead City, where he could often be found serving others, whether with a helping hand or delivering pound cakes to friends. He had a true servants heart.
William is survived by his sister Ilene Harris, nieces Laura Swain and Meghan Wenker, nephews, Keith Piner, Grant Taylor, Seth Meney and Hunter Fellows, and sisters -in- law, Rene Fellows and Joyce Ferguson. Additionally, he is survived by many cousins from both the Taylor and Arrington families.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Carol Taylor, sister Lillian Piner, brother Ed Taylor and step - mother Lula Taylor.
His graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday February 14 2025, at Gethsemane Memorial Park with Pastor Nate Leonard and Pastor Darrell Williams officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Morehead City 810 Bridges St. Morehead City, NC 28557
