Wayne Card

Obituary Wayne David Card, 67, of Newport, died Thursday, July 16, 2015, at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2015, at the Salvation Army Worship Center, 1700 Arendell Street, Morehead City, with Lt. Roland Lewis officiating. Mr. Card was born on June 30, 1948, in Watertown, NY, to Russell and Iva Sheter Card. He served his country in the US Army for 6 years and the US Coast Guard for 17 years, retiring as a Petty Officer 1st Class. After retirement, he worked at Cherry Point as a forklift operator. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Cindy Ethier Card; daughters, Melissa Card, of New Haven, CT, Ruth Lewis, of Newport; 5 brothers, 6 sisters; 4 grandchildren and 1 great grand child. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by 4 siblings. The family will receive friends after the Celebration of Life at the Worship Center. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials in Waynes name be made to the Salvation Army, 1700 Arendell Street, Morehead City, NC 28557.
