Wade Norris

Obituary Wade Presley Norris, 77, of Atlantic Beach, died Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Carteret General Hospital. His memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Brooks Funeral Home chapel with Military Honors and Masonic Rites. He was born June 20, 1936, in Durham to Hubert Dalmon Norris and Fannie Mae Williams Norris. He served in the United States Army, retiring from the National Guard. Mr. Norris worked for the North Carolina Department of Transportation and more recently with Country Aire Rentals. He was a member of Eno Masonic Lodge #210, Bahama, NC. He loved fishing and spending time with his family and friends. His grandsons were "the apple of his eye". The family wishes to thank Country Aire Rentals for being his second family and Carteret General Hospital for wonderful care and service. Additionally, thanks to RAAB Clinic and all the doctors who attended Wade as well and to all the friends and family for their support. Mr. Norris is survived by his wife, Jean; daughters, Diana Gail Norris and Polly Norris Jacobs, both of Durham; son, Joseph Bryan Norris and his partner, Elaine Levine, of Durham; sisters, Madeline Ross and Elizabeth Weaver, both of Durham, and three grandsons: Julian Tyler Norris, Taylor Presley Jacobs and Noah Aaron Jacobs.
