Obituary Virginia M. Swann, 97, of Morehead City, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at Harborview Health Care Center. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 1, 2015, at First United Methodist Church, Morehead City, with the Rev. E. Powell Osteen, Jr. and the Rev. Joseph Franklin officiating. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park, Fayetteville, on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. Mrs. Swann was born in Lenoir County on June 16, 1917, to James Lloyd Bizzell and Bessie Williams Bizzell. Mrs. Swann worked as Credit Manager of Sears & Roebuck catalog store in Morehead City for 21 years. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church for many years. She continued to serve the Lord from her home as an avid prayer warrior. Her pastors, friends, and church family were an important part of her life. She is survived by her son, James T. Swann of Emerald Isle; sisters, Johnnie Bizzell and Carol Bizzell, both of Kinston and Bessie Pocklington of Chula Vista, California. In addition to her parents, her husband, James Clarence Swann, and eight siblings preceded her in death. The family will receive friends in the church atrium following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church Television Ministry, 900 Arendell Street, Morehead City, North Carolina 28557.
