Virginia "Weenie" Rhue

Virginia Jean Rhue, also known as “Weenie” or “Jane”, passed away on September 13, 2024 at ECU Medical Center. Born on October 27, 1950, she brought joy to the lives of those around her with her vibrant spirit and creative talents. Virginia was particularly fond of crafts and cooking, often sharing her delightful recipes with friends and family.

Virginia's legacy is cherished by her loving family. She is survived by her nephew, Jamie Rhue (Erin) of Daphne, AL, and her niece, Rebecca Rhue Garner (Michael) of Newport, NC. Additionally, she enjoyed the company of three great nieces and great nephew: Hailey Filipovich (Dillon) of Newport, NC, Hannah Cheever of Newport, NC, Mackenzie Rhue of Daphne, AL, and Hale Rhue of Daphne, AL. She also leaves behind several cousins who held a special place in her heart, especially Ginger Johnston of Peletier, NC, Teresa Moore (Tim) and Timothy Moore, Jr., known as "Clown," of Peletier, NC, Diane Ozmore (Tony) of Peletier, NC, and Charlene Rhue of Broad Creek, NC.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, Nannie Rhue and Linwood Rhue. A brother, James Rhue, and many cousins, all of whom will be remembered alongside her.

The community is invited to join the Rhue family in celebrating her life at the visitation and funeral service to be held at Peletier First Missionary Baptist Church in Cape Carteret, NC. The visitation will take place on September 20, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM.

Virginia Jean Rhue will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her warmth, creativity, and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
