Obituary Biography Virginia H. Jones (Schmidt) 90, service Monday Virginia H. Jones, 90, of Morehead City, formerly of Woodhaven, NY and Old Tappan, NJ passed away, Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport, NC. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 19, at St. Egbert Catholic Church in Morehead City, NC with the Rev. Thomas R. Davis officiating. Virginia was born on November 10, 1925 above her fathers candy store in Woodhaven Queen, NY Her parents, Frank and Marie Schmidt and her 5 siblings, Frank, Marie, John, (twin sister) Rita and Paul all preceded her in death. Virginia married her husband J. Richard Jones also of Woodhaven in the snow of 1948. They were married for 68 loving years. In 1963 they moved to Old Tappan, NJ where they raised their 8 children. Virginia was also very active with her church, St. Pius the X and in her community. After her husband retired, they moved to River Bend, NC in 1986 and then to Morehead City in 1999. She loved her golf, beach and her Carolina Blue Sky! She is survived by her husband and best friend J. Richard Jones of Morehead City, NC. Her children, Kenneth P. Jones and companion Donna of Sussex, NJ, Robert J. Jones and wife Lorraine of Rivervale, NJ, Irene M. Jones of Newport, NC, Nancy M. DAmico and husband Daniel of Northvale, NJ, Susan R. Pike and husband Thomas of Atlantic Beach, NC, Richard E. Jones and wife Dawn of New Bern, NC, and Andrew P. Jones and companion Harriett of Atlantic Beach, NC. She has 17 beautiful grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is preceded by her oldest son, Peter R. Jones.
