Obituary Virginia Layton Cundiff (aka Ginny, Gigi, Princess) took her last breath on earth and went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 12, 2023. Ginny was born in Cumberland County NJ. After High school, she joined the US Army and moved south. Ginny and Joe made their home and raised a family in Cumberland County NC. Ginny loved food, family, friends, Jesus and cruises, not necessarily in that order. Ginny is memorable in more ways than one. Gigi is survived by children, David (Susan), Doug (Alice); grandchildren, Christopher (Dinah), David Michael (Joyce), Stephanie, Walt, Mel, Jackson, and Katie; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Nathan, Aryana Joy, Rylen, Julian (her favorite human); nieces and nephews, Laura(Jim), Kirsten, James, Rahrah, Dana, Donna, Cecil, Buddy, Mistery, and the Mitchell clan; Chapel by the Sea friends; Lake Rim Baptist friends, Georgia, Faye L., Faye T., Mildred, and Jesse Mae. She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Joe. Blessed with a life well lived, Gigi suffers no more. Thank you to her wonderful care partners, Stephanie, Mary, and Frances and 3HC Home Hospice. A celebration of life service will be planned at a later date and burial will be at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, Spring Lake, NC. What a day glorious day that will be.
