Obituary Varina Rose "Bobbie" Mason James, 74, of Miami, FL formerly of Stacy, died Friday, September 23, 2016, at her home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29, at Otway Christian Church with the Rev. Jack Mumford officiating. The interment will be private. She was born June 17, 1942 in Morehead City to Ira Walton Mason and Hazel Daniels Mason. She attended Atlantic Elementary School and graduated from Smyrna High School. At the age of 18, she moved to Miami, FL. She was employed by and retired from Caterpillar in West Palm Beach, FL. Following her grandchildren to their sports events and functions, working in the yard and watching football were some of her favorite activities. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Fernandez and husband Ivan of Coral Gables, FL; son, Richie James and wife Judy of Miami, FL; her childrens father, Dick James of Miami, FL; sisters, Iris Gillikin and husband Vance of Otway, Shirley Shafer of Otway, Adelaide Keller of St. Stephens, SC; Connie Noe of Otway and Janice Fulcher of Stacy; grandchildren, Meredith Naron and friend Bruno and Kyle James; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, three nephews, Greg Keller, Ricky Gillikin and Andy Gillikin, preceded her in death. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of ones choice.
