Obituary Theresa Rose Jones, 80, of Newport, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at home surrounded by her family. A Graveside Service will be held at Amariah-Garner Cemetery, 558 Nine Foot Road in Newport, NC on Monday, July 30, 2018 at 10:00am. The Rev. Rick Smith pastor of St. Josephs Church, Morehead City will officiate. Theresa was a proud member of the Womens Veterans Association, a Charter member, and volunteered with Marthas Mission. Theresa is survived by her two daughters, Linda and Laureen Jones, both of Newport; a sister, Toni Melder and her husband Sammy of Pineville, LA; and two nephews, Jamie and Matthew Melder, also of Pineville, LA. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Jones, and her brother, Carl Novak.
