Theodore "Ted" Cocks

Obituary Theodore L. Ted Cocks, 84, of Newport, died Sunday, December 28, 2014 at his home. The family will have a private service at a later date. Mr. Cocks was born in Belleville, NJ, on March 25, 1930 to Samuel and Elizabeth Webster Cocks. He taught Industrial Arts in Shelton High School in Shelton, CT for 25 years. Upon retirement and moving to Newport, NC, he owned Lake Road Kennels for 15 years. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen S. Kay Cocks; daughter, Katherine C. Davis, and her husband, Thomas; 4 step-sons, Richard Morrison, Douglas Morrison, Robert Morrison and Arthur Morrison, Jr.; 5 step-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, his brothers, Samuel W. Cocks and Donald M. Cocks preceded him in death. A visitation will be held Sunday, January 4, 2015, at Brooks Funeral Home from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Carteret General Hospital Foundation for Hospice Fund, P. O. Drawer 1619, Morehead City, NC 28557 or the Carteret County Humane Society, 853 Hibbs Road, Newport, NC 28570.
