Obituary Tammy Schrader Mercer, 63, of Newport, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Carteret Health Care of Morehead City. Tammy was the owner and operator of Rainbow Vacuum Enterprise for over 12 years. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Amariah Garner Cemetery with Bob Lowery officiating. She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Schrader Moore and husband, Christopher of Morehead City; daughter, Tanya Strayhorn of Morehead City; son, Charles Williford Mercer Jr. of Newport; grandchildren, Jordon Moore of Newport; Tyler ONeal of Newport; Haily Strayhorn of Morehead City; Brittney Moore of Wilmington; Riley Strayhorn of Morehead City; Hunter ONeal of Newport; Clay Guthrie of Newport; three brothers, David Schrader of Newport; Richard Schrader and wife, Edna of Newport; Edmond Willis and wife, Karen of OK. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Williford Mercer; daughter, Crystal Guthrie; granddaughter, Tammy Lynn ONeal; mother, Edith Willis; father, Nolan Schrader.
