Obituary Sylvia Harrell Woolard, 80, of Beaufort, passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, at Snug Harbor on Nelson Bay in Sea Level. Sylvias memorial service is planned for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday the 13th of April at the First Baptist Church of Beaufort (403 Anne Street) in Beaufort. Pastor Ed Renfrow is officiating the service. Interment will follow at St. Pauls Episcopal Church Cemetery located at the corner of Moore Street and Broad Street in Beaufort. Sylvia will be laid to rest next to her parents, Cecil and Pauline Harrell, and grandparents, William and Allie Ball Harrell) in the St. Paul's cemetery in Beaufort. Sylvia grew up in Beaufort with a wonderful circle of friends and a strong sense of family. She married Raymond H. (Mickey) Woolard Sr. of Morehead City in 1957 and that began a life of travel and adventure. They began a family and ultimately settled on the island of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands where they raised their three sons. She maintained her close family ties by spending each summer with her parents in Beaufort until the boys grew up and began lives of their own. She left the islands when the marriage ended and moved to South Carolina and then Florida and ultimately moved back home to Carteret County where she has lived since 1988. She worked for the AFLAC insurance company until her retirement where she was dedicated to providing the best service to the people of her community. Sylvia was an active member of her church, she loved life and all the blessings that came with such a remarkable time on this earth. She will be missed by so many people whose lives she touched. Sylvia is survived by her three sons, Harrell J. (Jud) Woolard and his wife Jane of Silver Spring, MD, Raymond H. Woolard Jr. and his wife Betty Jean of Kauai, Hawaii, and Collier T. Woolard and his wife Magaly of Westfield, NJ; her grandchildren by son Jud; Cecilia, Wolfe, and Savannah as well as her grandchildren by son Collier; Sebastian and Catalina; her cousin Charlene Belton and Charlene's son Michael.
