Obituary Susan Taylor Turner, 69, of Bachelor, NC died Saturday, February 27, 2016, at her home. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Bachelor, NC, with the Rev. Gina Barrow officiating. The interment will be private. She was born January 23, 1947 in Morehead City to Emmett Claude Taylor, Jr. and Elizabeth Edgerton Taylor. She was a Certified Dental Assistant for 42 years, a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Bachelor, NC, and the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution - Richard Dobbs Spaight Chapter, New Bern. She lived a life full of joy that was always evident by the smile she shared with others. She had a warm and gentle presence that will be missed by her family and many friends. She is survived by her husband, Carl A. Turner, Sr.; sons, Carl A. Turner, Jr. and wife Dr. Mary Catherine Turner of Greenville, NC; Claude Taylor Turner and wife Rebecca of Grayslake, IL; sister, Claudia Taylor Lewis and husband Chuck of Bachelor; granddaughters, Claire Elizabeth Turner and Charlotte Grace Turner; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, her sister, Jean Taylor Cochran, preceded her in death. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 2202 Wrightsville Avenue, Suite 111, Wilmington, NC 28403 or Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 3070 Adams Creek Road, Havelock, NC 28532.
