Obituary Steven Dennis Jones, 65, of Morehead City, NC passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022, in Raleigh, NC. The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday September 12, 2022, at Noe-Brooks Funeral Home in Morehead City. Steven grew up in Morehead City and attended West Carteret High School. Upon marrying Pauline Wilder (of Beaufort, NC) in 1987, he relocated to Beaufort. He inherited a son (Nicholas Wilder) and in their union they had another son in 1989 - Joel Jones. Steven was a hard-working individual who loved people and was always full of energy. He loved children and always greeted them with a smile. He worked for Morehead City Parks & Recreations for 15+ years, East Carteret High School for 10+ years, and West Carteret High School for 2 years. He finally retired from Carteret Community College in 2020 after years of working for the State of North Carolina. Steven was known in the community for his love of Jesus Christ. He was a living demonstration of Love. He would visit the nursing homes, pray for the children, cook for the less fortunate. He was always ministering the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people that he met. He loved the Word of God and he always stressed the importance of staying in His Word. His legacy shall forever be remembered as one who poured out his life unto God through blessing and inspiring others. Steven also loved his family and friends. He is survived by his two sons (Nicholas and Joel), one sister (Pamela Sharpe of Morehead City and brother-in-law Eddie Sharpe), three brothers (Martin Jones of Beaufort, Chris Jones of Morehead City, and Roger Jones of Newport, NC and sister-in-law Dora Jones), one brother-in-law (Haywood Wilder Jr.), one sister-in-law (Karen Wilder), and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife (Pauline Wilder Jones), parents (Ervin & Blanche Jones), paternal and maternal grandparents, brother (Ricky Sharpe), sister-in-law (Glenda Wilder), and nephew (Mitchell Dudley).
