Stephen "Steve" Derose

Obituary Stephen "Steve" DeRose, age 64, passed away surrounded by his family while at home in Newport on June 16, 2018. The family will celebrate Steves life during a visitation from 12pm to 1pm on Saturday, June 23 at Brooks Funeral Home, 201 Professional Cir. Morehead City. Steve was born in Newark, NJ on March 16, 1954 to Michael and Joyce Beresford DeRose. As an entrepreneur, Steve was wise and well respected. He was a generous, hardworking and self-made man that cherished his family and friends. Steve proudly created and managed his business, One Call Services of the Crystal Coast, Inc. As a lover of the sea, he enjoyed offshore fishing, boating, and coastal living. He considered the needs of others before his own and was the best father a man could be for his children. Steve is survived by his two daughters and son-in-law, Jamie Lauren DeRose of Raleigh, Stephanie DeRose Williams, and Trevor Williams of Charlotte; his love, Nancy Dunne of Newport; his sister, Michele DeRose of Durham; and his brother, Michael DeRose of Holly Springs. Steve was preceded in death by his parents and youngest brother, James "Jimmy" DeRose.
