Obituary Sonya Deese Strunk, 56, of Newport, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at home. Sonya was born July 20, 1965, in Washington, DC to Ronald Lee Deese and Lois Duncan Deese. She was the proud owner of Hope Cleaning. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at her brother's home, 121 Pine Grove Rd, Newport, NC 28570. She was a member of Liberty Christian Church for many years. She is survived by a son, Ryan T. Strunk and fianc, Christen of Morehead City; 4 grandsons, Byker, Brody, Beau, and Banks all of Morehead; fianc, George Smith of Newport; sister, Tonya Deese-Doshier of Newport; brother, Ronald Lee Deese II and wife, Traci of Newport; 2 nieces, Lauren Boyd and husband, Jason of Morehead City, Destiny Deese of Newport; 1 nephew, Tripp Lee Deese of Newport; 1 great-nephew Greyden Boyd of Morehead City; and 1 great-niece Addisyn Boyd also of Morehead City. In addition to her husband George Thomas Strunk, her parents Ronald Lee Deese and Lois Deese Duncan proceeded her in death.
