Obituary Shirley Wade Lucas, 91, of Morehead City, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017, with her family by her side in Clayton, NC. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, November 1, at First United Methodist Church of Morehead with the Rev. E. Powell Osteen officiating. The interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery. She was born September 17, 1926 in Morehead City to Howard and Sallie Wade. Shirley loved her Lord, family, church, volunteering, geneology, plants and people. Finding a way to serve the Lord gave her great joy. Her time working with the Carteret County School System enabled her to share her gift of patience with special needs children. Beloved wife of the late Rudolph (Luke) Lucas. Loving mother of Rudy Lucas (Suzan) and Mabel Dempsey (Tom). Grandmother of Christy Pruden (Todd), Randy Lucas (Danielle), Traci Fletcher and Jason Dempsey (Emily). Fondly called "GG" By Lucas, Palmer, Harper, Reed, Layla, and Liam. There will be a visitation at the church one hour prior to the service.
