Obituary Sharon Elliott Meyer, 76, of Harkers Island, died Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Carteret Health Care. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 7, at Brooks Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. David Adams officiating. She was born January 19, 1940 in Nassau County, NY to John Robert Elliott and Anne Rae Elliott. In 1958, she married her high school sweetheart. Soon after, they started their family, raising 4 children. As a stay at home mother, she was always dedicated to taking care of her family. In 1973, she and the family moved to Harkers Island. She continued to support her family with all she had, always there when anyone needed anything. As the children began to grow and the family expanded, her love for them only grew. With marriages and grandchildren came a love from her so giving and sweet. She spent the majority of her life as a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Anyone that saw or met her always saw an everlasting smile and always kind words. This was a true testament to her heart of gold. She enjoyed going to the beach, reading, and watching her grandchildren's activities. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband Lawrence Meyer; daughters, Lori Davis and husband Bertram of Williston, Susan Castro and husband Oscar of Gloucester, Terri Ufland of Gloucester; son, Lorenz Meyer and wife Robin of Harkers Island; sister, Jacqueline Robinson of Southington, CT; grandchildren, Jillian Bass and husband Preston, Cecily Glancy and husband Matt, Brittany Castro, Justin Castro, Lauren Chadwick, Samantha Meyer, Frederica Meyer, Andrew Conway; great-grandchildren, Ethan Mitchell, Piper Rose, Nathanael Davison, Walter Glancy, and her favorite dog, Pugsy. She is preceded in death by her parents.
