Sharon 'Duck' R. Rogers

Obituary Sharon Roosevelt "Duck" Rogers 90, of Beaufort, passed away Thursday July 14, 2022, at Croatan Ridge in Newport. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday July 23, 2022, at Noe-Brooks Funeral Home with Pastor William Ellison officiating. The interment will be in Oceanview Cemetery in Beaufort. The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Sharon was born in Fairmont, NC, Robeson County to the late Geno and Katie Rogers. He was married to the late Donnie Bell Rogers. He was a member of Queen St. Missionary Baptist Church in Beaufort, NC. In his younger days he was a farmer, worked for many years at Safrit Lumber Co. before becoming a Menhaden Factory Worker in North Carolina, Louisiana and Texas. His favorite saying was "I Got It Like That." Duck was an easy-going free-spirited man who loved his family and church family. In addition to his wife and parents, Sharon was preceded by two brothers, one sister, four sons, one daughter, two granddaughters and one grandson. He leaves to cherish his memories, one son Gene Barry Rogers (Marion), five daughters Shelby Jean Rogers, Dana Mitchell (Leonard), Mary Singletary, Carolyn James and Margo Reels; two daughters-in-law Stephanie and Lisa Rogers, twenty-five grandchildren, forty-three great grandchildren and fifteen great, great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends, special friend Deacon Leroy Cox. The family would like to extend special thanks to Pruitt Health-Neuse of New Bern, Croatan Ridge of Newport and Community Hospice.
