Roy Spicer Denkins Jr.

Roy S. Denkins, Jr, 92, of Morehead City, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Carteret Health Care of Morehead City.

Roy was a member of the First Methodist Church of Morehead City. He was a loving husband and father, who had the gift of gab and always had a joke to tell. He was the owner of Roy S. Denkins and Son Insurance Agency of Raleigh for over 27 years. Roy was also an avid NC State Wolfpack fan.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023, at First Methodist Church of Morehead City with Pastor Powell Osteen officiating.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Peggy Strickland Denkins of Morehead City; daughter, Patti Saleeby of Raleigh; son, Michael Roy Denkins and wife, Christina of Beaufort; two grandchildren, Amanda Lyn Saleeby of Raleigh; Robert Michael Saleeby of Raleigh.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Leafy Denkins.
