A veteran of the United States Marines, Rodney's commitment to service extended into his professional life. He dedicated decades of diligent work as a civilian at the Naval Weapons Station, a source of immense pride for him. In his leisure time, Rodney pursued diverse passions. A music enthusiast with a love for genres ranging from Don Williams to Norah Jones, he had an appreciation for life's harmonious melodies. His zest for adventure led him to become a familiar face at Busch Gardens, where he embraced the thrill of roller coasters. Rodney nurtured his fascination with automobiles and even fancied himself to be an amateur weatherman. Hailing from North Carolina, Rodney was an avid supporter of his home state's college sports teams, and his spirit was uplifted by their victories. His unwavering faith found a home at Grace Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a parishioner for over half a century. His service extended beyond the pews, as he volunteered selflessly, ushering, maintaining the church, and lending his voice to the choir. He was proud to be a lifetime faithful servant of God. Anything that he could do to further his connection to God as well as selflessly support his faith community. Rodney's genuine nature was evident in his firm handshakes and strong hugs that formed lasting connections with everyone he met. His kind heart and unwavering faith in God left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him.
