Obituary Roberta Tyler, 93, of Morehead City, died Thursday, March 5, 2015, at Snug Harbor on Nelson Bay, Sea Level. Services will be private Roberta was an avid bridge player and played both for fun and to help raise money for various causes. She also loved music. While in school, she played the glockenspiel and took piano lessons. During college she played a bugle in the Drum and Bugle Corps and even performed at the Worlds Fair in New York City. While her children were school age, she shared her love for music with others by teaching piano. Roberta also enjoyed travelling and was fortunate enough to take many trips both in the US and abroad. Her love for the ocean, nature and the beach made Morehead City the perfect place for her and her husband to choose for retirement. While living here, she continued playing bridge at the Senior Center and with friends, worked with the Literacy Council and was a member of the Womens Club, Shell Belles, and the Welcome Wagon. She is survived by her daughters, Terrie Hostmark of Morehead City and Alice Cooper of Florida; son, Charles R. Tyler of Atlantic Beach; two grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, her husband, Charles H. Tyler, preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity, P. O. Box 789, Newport, NC 28570 or Carteret Literacy Council, 2500 Bridges Street, Suite 3, Morehead City, NC 28557.
