Robert Clark

December 21, 1938 — February 28, 2016

Obituary Robert Arthur Clark December 21, 1938 February 28, 2016 Robert was born at home in Scott, New York to Evelyn Randall Clark and Albert Clark (Foster Parents-MaMah and Dayton Craft). Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Barbara of 54 years, sons Dan and Bill (Renee), sister, Marian Wentz, brothers, Richard Clark (Shirley) and Merrill Clark (Rose), sisters-in-law, Carol "Lindi" Kracke and Martha Kracke Ruffin (Gregg), brother-in law, Jerry Kracke (Eileen). He truly loved his very special grandchildren: Alexandra Jade, Abigail Rae, Matthew Ryan, Robert David, and Jason Patrick Clark. Also, Regi Bolen enjoyed Bob. He had many nieces and nephews including Carley, Carson and Avery Ruffin. Oak Grove United Methodist Church will hold a memorial "get together" on Sunday, March 6, 2016, at 4:00 P.M. (3070 Adams Creek Road, Havelock, N.C. Pastor, Gina Barrow will officiate), Bob was a proud marine. He worked at Cherry Point until he retired. He was very honored when he was chosen to supervise the A-6 Trainer. He was involved in Havelock Youth Sports. Bob spent many happy times in Havelock Parks and Recreation. He served as President of Havelock Little League. Bob coached flag football as well as minor and major league baseball. After retirement, Pops, as he was affectionately called, became an avid golfer, known for his crosshand swing. He became "Resident Groundskeeper" for The Links Golf Course in Harlowe. He made close friendships with his fellow golfers. Bobs dry humor was appreciated. Pops was well liked by all who knew him. Living on Clubfoot Creek gave him many memories, such as taking the family camping and fishing. Pops thoroughly enjoyed puttering around the yard and having a vegetable garden each year. Pops and Nana traveled to Aruba, Caribbean Islands, Spain and Italy. Toward the last three years of his life, he fought a valiant fight with numerous health issues. The family wishes to thank Dr. Alonzo Davis and his staff for their gentile compassion. Pops will be missed and we wish him peace, fair winds-following seas and Godspeed! He will be cremated at Brooks Funeral Home. His final resting place will be at home on his beloved Clubfoot Creek. In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to plant a tree celebrating life.
