Obituary Robert "Bob" Swan Johnson, 85, of Morehead City, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2018 at Crystal Coast Hospice House from complications following a stroke. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 20th at 3:00pm at First Presbyterian Church, with Reverend Timothy Havlicek officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Born in Newark, NJ, Bob attended the Peddie School in Heightstown, NJ, and later received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University, where he was also a member of Zeta Psi fraternity. An ROTC student, Bob served as an officer in the 2nd Armored Engineer Battalion in Dexheim, Germany, following World War II. He earned his membership in the American Institute of Architecture and began his professional career at JN Pease Associates in Charlotte and later at George Connor Architects in High Point. As his career progressed, he became Staff Architect for the Warner-Lambert Company in Morris Plains, NJ, where he was employed for 25 years. Bob was also a Master Mason of F&AM Madison Lodge #93 in New Jersey. Upon retirement, Bob and Jean returned to North Carolina, residing in Brandywine Bay. Bob served on the Architectural Review Board for Brandywine. He was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church in Morehead City and served his church by designing the Westminster hall addition. Bob was also an Elder of the church and chaired the Stewardship Committee. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jean (JJ) and two daughters, Lynn Anne (David) Banks of Crozet, VA, and Laura (Tony) Schapira residing in London, England. Also surviving are three granddaughters: Anne White, Allyson Prilook, and Ashley Wall; and five great-grandchildren.
