Obituary Richella Tillery Walker, 91, of Morehead City, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Crystal Coast Hospice House. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014, at First Baptist Church, Morehead City with The Rev. Dr. William T. Snow officiating. She was born on July 28, 1922, in Morehead City, to John Randolph and Parmilla Gaskill Tillery. Mrs. Walker graduated from Loyola College in Baltimore, MD, with her Masters Degree, and was a teacher in the public school system for 40 years in Baltimore, MD. She was a member of St. Stephens AME Zion Church in Morehead. Mrs. Walker is survived by two sons, Harvey N. Walker, Jr. of Morehead City and Jerome Walker of Raleigh; sisters, Althea Becton of Harlowe, Fanny Butler of Salisbury, and Mary Boyd of Kinston; brothers, Fred Tillery of Morehead City and Winifred Tillery of Raleigh; six grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. Her husband, Harvey N. Walker, Sr., preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Stephens A.M.E. Zion Church, 107 N. 12th Street, Morehead City, NC 28557.
