Rena Myers

Obituary Rena Elizabeth Watson Myers, 67, of Ocean, died Friday, August 4, 2017, at Pruitt Health Care in New Bern. A Celebration of her Life will be held at the Humphrey Family Cemetery in Bogue, on Sunday, August 6 2017, at 2:00 PM. Rena was born in Morehead City on August 24, 1949, to Murray Glenn and Rena Belle Humphrey Watson. She spent her career with Carolina Telephone and Telegraph as an operator and in Customer Service. She was "a beyond avid" Carolina fan. She loved her family and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Lou Smith, and her partner, Rick Bulla, of Cape Carteret, Shirley Ann Holland, and her husband, Osborne, of Ocean, and Laura Newman, and her husband, Howard, of Newport, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Charlie Glenn Watson, and a brother-inlaw, Paul Smith. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Hadnot Creek Primative Baptist Church, %Mary Lou Smith, 509 Deer Creek Drive, Cape Carteret, NC 28584-9702, or to a favorite charity.
