Obituary Biography Ramona F. Brayboy Taylor, 50, of Newport, died Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Crystal Coast Hospice House, after a long term illness. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Mount Pleasant Freewill Baptist Church, 2413 Mill Creek Road, Newport, with Pastor Doug Randall officiating Mrs. Taylor was born in Morehead City, to Tommy Roosevelt Brayboy and Minnie Oxendine Brayboy. She is a graduate of West Carteret High School, class of 1986. Her family was a member of the Lumbee Indian tribe. Mona worked long term at the Newport Red & White. She is survived by her husband, Willie D. Taylor of Newport; three brothers, Anthony Brayboy of Newport, Vince Brayboy of Newport, and William Brayboy of Swansboro, and one sister, Shirley Brayboy of Newport Her parents preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to her husband to pay for funeral expenses.
