Obituary Ralph Lanser ONeill, 73, of Pine Knoll Shores, died Friday, February 12, 2016, at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Egbert Catholic Church on Friday, April 8, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. with the pastor, Rev. Thomas R. Davis, officiating. Ralph was born on October 15, 1942, in Abington, PA., to J. Ross and Dorothy McGee ONeill. He served his country in the U. S. Coast Guard, and spent 4 years on the USCGC Mendota. He was Fire Captain for Baltimore County, with 27 active years of service. He is a life time member of the Elkridge Volunteer Fire Department in Elkridge, MD. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Rutledge ONeill; his daughter, Colleen M. ONeill, of Westminster, MD; son, James R. ONeill, of Hurlock, MD; 4 brothers, Anthony R. ONeill, of Booth Bay Harbor, MA., Michael H. ONeill, of Stevensville, MD, John G. ONeill, of Great Falls, VA., Kevin J. ONeill, of Houston, TX., and sister, Kathleen O. Helt, of Catonsville, MD; and 6 grandchildren, Josh Angelo, Meghan Angelo, Julianna Angelo, George Frankowski, Samantha Riley and David Riley. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 7, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the St. Egbert Fund, 1706 Evans Street, Morehead City, NC 28557.
