Phyllis Rose Bridges, 83, of Selma, NC passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on January 4th at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield, NC. Ms. Phyllis to those who knew her was born on October 26, 1940 in Wake Forest, North Carolina, to the late LeeRoyal and Van Nora Bridges.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 8, 2024 at Greenwood Cemetery in Morehead City.
She is survived by her sister Violet Gardner and her caregivers Parker Leigh and Mary Ann Savage whom she loved and spent the last 7 years of her life with. Ms. Phyllis also leaves behind her two baby dolls Gina Rose and Betty Rose.
She also has an extended family which consisted of the Edwards’ (Parmilla), Stamps’ (Jeff, Sadie, Dominique, Mariel and Alexia), Tillery’s (Fredericka, Audra, & Beth) and Murrell’s (Linda).
Ms. Phyllis loved the Lord and for all that knew Ms. Phyllis knew how well she took good care of her babies. She enjoyed traveling, dressing up and shopping. Hamburgers, French fries and a Diet Coke was her go to meal. She loved those French fries the best. She was the most humble person you would ever meet and will be greatly missed!
Thanks to the ICU staff (2nd floor) at UNC Johnston Health, her neighbors and friends who supported her through the years. A Special thank you to Parmilla E, Amanda F. and Kim C. for their compassion when it was needed the most.
