Paul Stekas

Obituary Paul Stekas, 83, of Morehead City, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Crystal Coast Hospice House. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 15, at Brooks Funeral Home with The Rev. Michael D. Frese officiating. Mr. Stekas was born May 28, 1930 in Kinston, NC to Christ and Melanthy Filou Stekas. He served in the United States Army. Mr. Stekas was of the Greek Orthodox faith, a member of AHEPA (American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association), and Brandywine Bay Golf Association. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Sweeney Stekas; sister in law, Chrysanthe Stekas of Rockville Centre, NY; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, his sister, Katherine S. Galatis; and brothers, Thomas Stekas and James Stekas, preceded him in death. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Crystal Coast Hospice House, 100 Big Rock Weigh, Newport, NC 28570.
