Patty Morey

Obituary Patty P. Morey, 95, of Morehead City died Monday, March 6, 2017, at Harborview Health Care Center, Morehead City. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 11, at Brooks Funeral Home with the Rev. E. Powell Osteen, Jr. officiating. The burial will be private. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was born August 8, 1921 in Newport to Solon Asbury and Annie Garner Perkins. She graduated from Rex Hospital School of Nursing in Raleigh, where she met and married her husband, Dr. Milton B. Morey. They moved to Morehead City where Dr. Morey started his practice in 1946. Pat enjoyed playing bridge and working in her flower garden. She was an extraordinary cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. She was a member of First United Methodist Church for many years and attended services whenever she could. Pat was a longtime member of the Jackie Eure Sunday School Class and especially enjoyed Jackie Eure Bible Studies, where she made many friends. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family. She is survived by her three sons, Milton Blanchard Morey, Jr. and wife Linda of Morehead City, Father Robert Edward Morey of Florence, SC and John Michael Morey and wife Ellen of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Leslie Whitmore and husband Aaron, Michael Morey, Chris Morey and Robert Morey; great-grandson, Gavin Whitmore. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
