Obituary Patti McKinley Dill, 69, of Morehead City died Saturday, June 3, 2017 at home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, at St. Pauls Episcopal Church with the Rev. John B. Carlisto officiating. A reception at St. Pauls Parish Hall will follow. The committal service will be held at Bayview Cemetery in Morehead City after the reception. She was born September 25, 1947 in Kannapolis, NC to Edward Gibson McKinley and Patti Hipps McKinley. Mrs. Dill was a 1969 graduate of East Carolina University where she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. A longtime educator, she last served as the Academically Gifted Coordinator for Carteret County Schools. Following retirement, she enjoyed working with her business partner, Linda Patton, as co-owner of Travel Team, LLC. She was an active member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church where she served on the vestry, was a Sunday school teacher, as well as president of the ECW. She enjoyed her daily walks on the Morehead City and Beaufort waterfronts, doting over her children and grandchildren and participating in her local book and game clubs. She is survived by her husband, her "hero" and love of her life, George Leigh Dill; daughters, Amanda Dill Schoden and husband Chris of Morehead City, Emily Dill Galik and husband Christopher of Durham; son, George McKinley Dill of San Francisco, CA; sisters, Kathy McKinley Conn of Annapolis, MD and Anne McKinley Lovoy and husband Mike of Beaufort; grandchildren, McKinley Joslyn Schoden, Everett Stephen Galik and Cody Edward Galik; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents.
