Obituary Patricia Ann Hales, 64, of Newport, died Saturday, January 28, 2017, at New Hanover Medical Center, Wilmington. A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Gethsemane Memorial Park. There will be a Celebration of Life after the service at Hales Bakery, 4050 Arendell Street, Morehead City. Mrs. Hales was born on April 6, 1952, in Laurinburg, NC. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grand mother and a loyal friend to many. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Roger Hales; sons, Joseph Daniel Hales, and Bryan Paul Hales, and his wife, Tabetha, all of Newport; brother, Tommy L. Johnson, of Fayettville, and sister, Donna Lunsford of Statesville; 6 grandchildren, Joseph Andrew Hales, Kimberly Michelle Turner, Shelton Tyler Hales, Ashley Elayna Thompson, Haylie Nicole Hales and Katelyn Jade Hales; one great grand daughter, Mackinzie Michelle Hales. Her mother, Carrie Johnson, her granddaughter, Rylee Ann Hales and her brother. James E. Johnson, Jr., preceded her in death.
