Obituary Patricia K. Criner, of Beaufort, died Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport. Her service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 17, at Brooks Funeral Home, with her grandson-in-law, Rev. David Chambers, of Houston, TX, presiding. Mrs. Criner was born April 7, 1927, in Morgantown, WV to Harry and Janet Kincaid. Patricia was a graduate of Morgantown High School and Morgantown School of Business. She was manager of the office of the chemistry department of West Virginia University until 1951. Mrs. Criner was a member of Ann Street United Methodist Church, Beaufort. She loved her family, the holidays, playing bridge, and her beloved Chicago Cubs. Mrs. Criner worked at Mary Elizabeths Dress Shop on Front Street after returning to Beaufort in 1993, and sometimes modeled at Mrs. Vicks dress shows. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Gaspard X. Criner; daughter, Janet Best and husband Brooks, of Winterville, and granddaughter Jessie Chambers of Houston TX; son, John Criner and wife Barbara, of Emerald Isle and grandson Andrew Criner of Swansboro. She also has a sister, Jeanne Kincaid of Richmond, VA.
