Owen Weston Harrison

Obituary Owen Weston Harrison passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2018, at his home. There will be no formal service. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers. He was born in Jonesboro, AR, the middle son of the late Elizabeth Gann Harrison and William Owen Harrison. He graduated from Blytheville High School, where he played football and was active in student government. Owen proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1953 on assignment to Headquarters 12th Air Force Division Europe. He attended the University of Arkansas and is a 1966 graduate of the University of Mississippi. After school, he worked for Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Staunton VA where he met his bride, the late Elizabeth King (n e) Nelson Harrison. They married and moved to Nashville, TN then to Mobile AL. Making a transition, Owen graduated from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia in 1966 as "the old man" of his class; then began a 30 year career in commercial banking. He is survived by his brother, J. E. "Corky" Harrison; his daughter, Sarah Frances King Harrison West and her husband, Barry of Morehead City; his son, William Weston Rodes Harrison of New York City; his "adopted" son, A. Hamid Andalib of Menlo Park, CA; his grandchildren, Emmett Lawson West, Elizabeth Julia West, Georgiana Louisa Nelson Harrison, and Catherine Elizabeth Amherst Harrison. He is proceeded in death by his brother, Col (ret). Tommy G Harrison, USAF. The family would like to thank Dr. Mary K Lawrence, Dr. Debra McCutcheon, Dr. C. V. Purushothaman, Dr. Gloria Graham, Steven Huber, PA, and Rita Frazier, who, with great kindness worked hard to keep Owen comfortable in his last years.
