Obituary Krista 'Olivia' Taylor, 19, of Newport, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022, in Morehead City. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday at Noe-Brooks Funeral Home of Morehead City with Pastor James Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park in Newport. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday at the funeral home. Olivia was a very strong independent soul from day one. She had a beautiful smile and warm heart. If she loved you, she truly loved you. However, if you did something she didnt like you would know about it. She was tough on the outside but had a soft heart. From a young age she supported her brothers as a Pop Warner cheerleader. Later in life you would find her cheering from the bleachers at West Carteret basketball games. She loved them so much and was beyond proud of them. She loved playing soccer and made many friends. She loved being the goalie and occasionally wanted to come out of the goal and score her own points. Olivia played basketball in Parks and Rec and also for middle school. She loved the competition and always became close with her team. She loved the beach and to going fishing just to relax. She loved to take pictures and capture beautiful sunsets. As Olivia grew older friends came and went and people changed. She had a couple of special friends in her life that were always there for her. She grew up with DJ and Brandon and they stayed close throughout the years. Olivia recently said that "No matter how much time goes without seeing them that it seemed like no time had passed, she loved them like family". She loved her fur baby Abel and you could often find them cuddled up on the couch. Olivia took great pride in herself and always made sure her hair and makeup were done. She didnt mind taking 2+hrs to get ready to go out to dinner and making everyone wait, but her makeup had to be right. She would tell you if you didnt want to wait then go ahead but she wasnt going without it done. She loved her hair straightened and embraced her beautiful curls. She would often get many compliments on her hair and makeup. Olivia was super proud to be an aunt, she loved her niece and nephews and wanted to be called Auntie "O" by them. Her goals were to finish school and become a radiation therapist. Olivia was my best friend and daughter all in one. God gave me her for 19 short years and though right now I cant understand why he took her away so soon, I appreciate the time I did get. She was my girl, and I will FOREVER miss her. Rip Olivia you are now MY ANGEL. She is survived by her mother, Danielle Hopewell and stepfather, Rasheed Perkins of Newport; "Daddy" Marvin Windley of Beaufort; two brothers, Anthony Windley and wife, McCenzie of Morehead City; Nathan Windley and significate other, Kara Buttery of Newport; two nephews Alden Windley and Baylen Windley of Morehead City; a niece Blair Windley of Newport; Whom she loved deeply and treated as if they were her own.
