Norman Bonner "Nubby" Gillikin

Obituary Norman Bonner Nubby Gillikin, 78, of Beaufort died Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Croatan Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Newport. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2015, at First Free Will Baptist Church in Beaufort, with the Rev. Richard Patterson and Rev. Joseph Hall, officiating. Mr. Gillikin was born March 6, 1937, in Beaufort to Charles Thomas Gillikin and Rachel Willis Gillikin. Mr. Gillikin worked as a Commercial Fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Ann Laughinghouse Gillikin, of New Bern and brother, James Howard Gillikin of Beaufort. In addition he is survived by nieces, Georgia Garner and husband, Terry Garner of Newport; Mary Ann Garner of Newport; Lori Davis and husband, Chuck Davis of Beaufort, and nephew Dale Gillikin and wife, Deborah of Beaufort. Numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, his brothers, Johnnie Willis, Earl Willis, Charles Edward Monk Gillikin and George Willis, and his sister, Lola Merrell preceded him in death. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Free Will Baptist Church Youth Program, P.O. Box 568, Beaufort, NC 28516.
