Nellie Clemmer

Obituary Nellie Joyner Clemmer, 81, of Raleigh/Emerald Isle, passed away peacefully alongside her family on Friday, February 19, 2016. Her visitation celebration will be held at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 from 1:30 p.m. 3:30 p.m., Saturday, February 27, 2016. Nellie was born and raised in Nash County. She was the daughter of Bauzy W. Joyner and Mary Lizzie Hendricks. Nellie worked in the banking industry all her life. She started at Planters National Bank in Rocky Mount, moved on to United Carolina Bank in Raleigh, and then to BB&T where she retired. She loved her clients, most of which ended in wonderful friendships. Nellie had a smile that could light the world and a heart that could match it. She loved all her family and friends unconditionally. She enjoyed a game of cards, always centered around bridge or poker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lucille J. Bone; brothers: Howard Joyner, Ambler "Jake" Joyner, and Jasper L. Joyner; nephews: James Joyner, William "Billy" Bone, and Dale C. Bone. She is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) Clemmer; stepdaughters, Ann and Karen; son, Keith Carpenter; daughter, Arnella (Chris) Hunt; grandsons: Brandon and Mason Hunt; half-brothers: Nicky & J.D. Joyner; half-sisters: Margie Hill, Judy Watson and Margaret Ferrell and several nieces and nephews.
