Nel Lucille Nolle

Nel Lucille Nolle, age 95, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away Monday, December 23rd in her home. 

Nel was born March 3rd, 1929, in Greene County, Pennsylvania. She continued to live in the Pennsylvania area after she was married and had three daughters, Sandy, Kathy, and Mary Beth whom she truly loved. In time, Nel married the love of her life Carl Nolle. They remained married until Carl’s death in 1997.

A funeral service will be held on January 18th, 2025, at 6:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 324 McCabe Rd. Newport, NC 28570

Nel was baptized on July 29th, 1978, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Soon after, she began volunteering as a full-time pioneer minister. This meant she devoted a specific number of hours every month, to sharing Bible Truths in the door-to-door ministry. This work became Nel’s passion in life. Because of Nel’s deep love for people, she would share these precious truths with anyone and everyone she met. In 1989, Nel and Carl moved to Newport, NC, which allowed them to devote even more time to their ministry work. Remarkably, Nel was able to continue her beloved volunteer work for over 40 years, up until the last weeks of her life.

A Bible truth that gives us all comfort, is one that was especially close to Nel’s heart. God’s promise for the future. The promise that there will soon be a resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in death. That they will be welcomed back by their loved ones, to live on a paradise earth, according to God’s original purpose. Because of Nel’s strong faith in that promise, she was calm and confident, even as her health declined. She knew, that even in death, she would be safe in her Heavenly Father’s memory until his promises are fulfilled. 

 Nel will be remembered for her caring and giving personality. Few could meet her, without experiencing some warm hospitality. She was always quick to share a delicious meal, or even her home, with those in need. These qualities endeared her to many.

Nel will be truly missed by the hundreds of friends she had gathered over the years and by her family members. She is survived by her sister Alma Patterson, daughter Sandy Hall (Husband Dan Hall), and grandchildren Brandon, Casey, and Tyler Hall, great grandchildren Grayson and Sage Hall. Nephew Donald Stoltz, (wife Alissa Stoltz), and grandchildren Maya, Taylor, and Charlotte Stoltz. Niece, Jeniffer Brown (husband Stephen Brown), and nephews, Zachary, and Koen Brown. Nel was preceded in death by her husband Carl Nolle and her daughters, Mary Beth Monroe, and Kathy Stoltz.
