Obituary Biography Michael W. Piner, 45, of Newport, died Saturday, August 12, 2017 at home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2017, at Gethsemane Memorial Park with the Rev. Thomas R. Davis officiating. Michael was born on April 15, 1972 in Morehead City, to Cecil Wayne Piner, Jr. and Susan Hill Piner. He worked as a kitchen manager for Crystal Bluff Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. He is survived by a son, Angelo Michael Piner of Jacksonville, FL, two sisters, Stephanie Dawn Bise of Morehead City and Maria Piner of Beaver Creek, OH; a brother Cecil Wayne Piner, III of Beaver Creek, OH; two aunts, Emily M. Piner of Morehead City and Robin Gollehon of Newport; two Uncles, John King Hill of Marshallberg, and William Hill of Brick, NJ; and a "big brother" Joe McKenzie of Beaufort. His parents preceded him in death.
