Michael Bach

Obituary Michael Bach, 97, died Monday, September 11, 2017, at Crystal Coast Hospice House, Newport. Helen, his wife of 73 years, joined him on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, after several years of declining health. At both of their request, there will be no services. Michael was born August 15, 1920, in Czechoslovakia, to Michael and Suzanna Andersov Backovsky. Helen was born March 10, 1927, in Pitt County, NC to Clifton Troy and Eva Dudley Dail. They are survived by their 3 children, daughter, Susan Bach, of Raleigh; 2 sons, Mike Bach, and his wife, Sandi, of Morehead City, and Gary Bach, and his wife, Cindi, of Wilmington, NC; 3 grand children, Heather Bach, Michelle Siner, and her husband Trey, and Summer Hill; 3 great-grandchildren, McKenzie Siner, Bailey Siner and Caroline Hill. Both have several nieces and nephews. Michael is survived by a sister, Mary Halajcsik of Willis, VA. Helen is survived by her sisters, Nell Patrick of Kinston, NC; Evelyn Genova, and her husband, Joe, of Linden, NJ; brothers, Cecil Dail, and his wife, Linda, of Kinston, and Charles Dail, and his wife, Sally, of Hampton, VA. They both are also survived by a very special friend and caregiver, Juana Valasquez of Newport. In addition to their parents, they are preceded in death by their grandson, Michael Bach. The family expresses gratitude to all the caregivers over the years and to the staff at Crystal Coast Hospice House.
