Obituary Mary Badger Stallings, 90, of Morehead City, died Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at Harborview Health Care Center. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2015, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Dr. John Pollock officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the church. Burial will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Westview Cemetery, Kinston. Mary Badger was born to Hal Stanley and Norma Smith Wetmore on August 12, 1925, in Greensboro, but grew up in Raleigh. She graduated from Needham Broughton High School and Peace Junior College. She was an active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Raleigh and later St.Andrews Episcopal Church in Morehead City. She was employed by the State of North Carolina in the General Assembly, the Economic Development Board and the State Ports Authority. Upon her husbands retirement, they moved to Carteret County where Mary Badger held membership in several historical lineage societies. Surviving are two sons, Harry Ferrell Stallings, and wife, Julie, of Raleigh and Hal Wetmore Stallings of Morehead City; 3 grandchildren, Adam Stallings, of Morehead City, Addison Stallings and Caroline Stallings, of Raleigh, and 2 great grandchildren, Aaron Stallings and Ryan Stallings; a niece, Jane Riddick Waters of Peachtree City, GA and nephew, Emmet L. Riddick, of Alpharetta, GA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Yancey Moore Stallings and her sister, Norma Boo Wetmore Riddick. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Mary Badgers name to Saint Andrews Episcopal Church, 2005 Arendell Street, Morehead City, NC 28557, will be appreciated.
