Martha Bell

Obituary Martha Ann Bell, 70, of Broad Creek, died peacefully Monday, May 28, 2018, at Carteret Health Care with family and friends at her side. Martha fought a courageous battle until the end. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Martha grew up in the Broad Creek area and raised her family there. She was a dedicated stay at home mom to her two sons, Guy Jr., and David Preston. She always found time for anyone that needed any help. She was dedicated to her Fire Department and Rescue Squad. She was a kind and gentle person and shared her home and love with lots of young people, and she became known as "Ma Bell". She loved Bogue Sound! She is survived by her son, Guy Jr.; grandson, Chris Bell; sister, Jackie Lewis; brother, Joey Lewis; niece, Chelsea Lewis, and other nieces and nephews. Izzy, her special canine friend, who has helped her during her darkest days, also survives. Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Joe E. and Fronie Lewis, and her younger son, David Preston. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorials in Marthas memory be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, P. O.
