Marshall Mason

Obituary Marshall Randolph Mason, 75, of Newport, formerly of Union, OH, went to heaven to join departed family and friends on Friday, January 8, 2016, at CarolinaEast Medical Center, New Bern. A celebration of his life will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Saturday, January 9, at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Ben Ball presiding. He was born on June 8, 1940 in Longacre, WV to Benjamin Elliott Mason and Hattie Lee Price Mason. Mr. Mason worked for the Chrysler Corporation in Dayton, OH for 31 years. He and his wife, Mabel, retired to Newport, NC in 2002. He was a devoted husband, and loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Mabel E. Mason; daughters, Shelia Dull and husband, Darin, of Summerville, SC and Marsha Mason of Hubert, NC; sisters, Marilyn VanMeter of Montgomery, WV and Isabell Yoder of Point Pleasant, WV; brother, John Mason of Starr, SC; grandchildren, Amanda Dull, Benjamin Strange, and Kaitlyn Strange; as well as his dog, Lacy. In addition to his parents, his brothers, Glen Mason and Gwinn Mason; sister, Ruth Haynie; and granddaughter, Brittany Strange, preceded him in death.
