Marlyn "Charlie" Norma Dixon

Marlyn "Charlie" Norma Dixon, a beloved resident of Havelock, North Carolina, and a cherished member of the community, passed away on March 5, 2025, at the Carolina East Medical Center. Born on September 26, 1942, in Nova Scotia, Canada, Marlyn’s journey through life was marked by her unwavering dedication to family, community, and service.

Marlyn was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, embodying the spirit of strength and commitment that defines those who serve. After her time in the military, she established herself as a respected business owner and operator of Charlie's Beauty Shop on Bay Street, where she brought confidence and joy to her clients through her artistry and care. In addition to her work in beauty, Marlyn opened Charlie’s Small Daycare Home, providing a nurturing environment for the children in her community and becoming a beloved figure to many families.

She is survived by her daughters, Shalom Norma Dixon and Sydney Marlyn Dixon, both of Havelock, and her son Dominic Joseph Dixon, alongside her daughter-in-law Tammy, also of Havelock. Her granddaughter Shalom Marlyn Dozier taking a special place in her heart. Marlyn also leaves behind her sister, Margaret Guy, of Chesapeake, Virginia, who, along with her family, will hold dear the memories they created together.

Marlyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Dixon, who passed in 2024, and her brother, Francis Guy. Their memories and the love they shared remain forever etched in the hearts of all who knew them.

Marlyn "Charlie" Norma Dixon will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the many lives she touched throughout her remarkable journey. Her compassion, dedication, and unwavering spirit will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
