Marian "Reenie" 'Reenie' Rowland

Obituary Marian Rowland, affectionately known as Reenie, 94, of Bettie, died Sunday, October 18, 2015, at Snug Harbor on Nelson Bay, Sea Level, NC. Her funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, at Woodville Baptist Church, Bettie, with the Rev. Terry McInnis officiating. The interment will follow at Woodville Gardens Cemetery. She was born November 3, 1920 in Zebulon to Willie O. Bryant and Ophelia Whitaker Bryant. Mrs. Rowland worked at Rex Hospital for 15 years as a nurses aid and surgical technician and later became a homemaker and self-employed seamstress. She was a woman of humor with an ability to create sunshine and smiles wherever she went. She was a member of Woodville Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters, Gloria Willis of Bettie and Betsy Lawrence and husband, Ralph, of Bettie; stepdaughters, Frances Sarakby of Raleigh and Betty Jane Morrison; stepsons, Larry Rowland and wife, Eugena, of Orlando, FL and Marshall Rowland of Port Orange, FL; sister Dollie Macon of Garner; brothers, Hugh Pete Bryant of Bettie and Henry Bryant and wife, Mildred, of Benson; 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, her husband, Marshall B. Rowland, and son-in-law, Laurie Moore Willis, preceded her in death.
