Leonard James Whalley

Obituary Leonard James Whalley, 81, of Morehead City, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Pruitt Health in New Bern. Leonard was born on January 3, 1940 to Frederick and Irene Whalley in St. Helen's, Haydock, England. Len served in the Merchant Marines as a young man before learning the trade of a sheet metal worker. Len and his young family moved to the U.S. in 1969 where he eventually started his own successful roofing and gutter business. He is survived by his two daughters, Tania O'Connor and her husband Bill of Vermont and their 3 children, and Yvette Young and her husband Andrew of Georgia and their 4 children. Len also leaves behind 7 great-grandchildren. Leonard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dolores, loving known as Dee and his only son Sean, and his very faithful 4 legged companion Chrissy.
