Obituary Leon King Thomas, 77, of Fairfax Station, Va., passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 15, 2017. A graveside service, with military honors, will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Victoria Cemetery, Marshallberg, NC, with Chaplain Randy Moore officiating. Leon was born on July 13, 1940, in Beaufort to Leon King and Gladys Davis Thomas. He graduated from Wake Forest University. Leon was a retired Coast Guard Captain and pilot, successful businessman, and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Intelligent and talented, he developed software, could build anything, and still make time to attend to everything important to his family. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Susan Royce Thomas; daughter Carrie Williford (Dan), sons, Brent Thomas (Rebecca), Forest Thomas (Eleanor); brother, Sam Thomas (Cindy), and six grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home and Crematory on Saturday, November 18, 2017, from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM.
